Improper use of verbs taking one objects

　　Example:

　　Wrong：昨天我们见过面，我知道他。

　　Right：昨天我们见过面，我认识他。

　　“知道”means to be conscious of a fact. “认识”means to be acquainted with somebody. “认识”should be used instead of “知道”.

　　Example:

　　Wrong：我不太知道中国，我想去看看。

　　Right：我不太了解中国，我想去看看。

　　The speaker means that he does not know much about China and wants to have a look with his own eyes. He ought to use “了解”rather than “知道”.
